Dessert lovers, rejoice. Georgie Pie, a division of Let Them Eat Cupcakes, is a new monthly pop-up pie shop landing at Fashionista’s Market’s new studio space at 1185 Bethel St. every third Thursday and Friday.
Georgie Pie owner Kawehi Haug started experimenting with pies a year ago as a follow-up to her cupcakes. She attributes everything she knows to her mother, whose middle name is Georgeanne, Georgie for short.
She made her pies available on holidays and special occasions to test the market, and people swooned over her fresh fruit pies, velvety banana cream pies (at right) and savory beef brisket 4-inch hand pies.
Meat pies are $6, hand pies are $4.50 to $5.50, slices are $4.50 and whole pies run $22 to $26. They are also available by order at 531-2253, or email
georgiepiehawaii@gmail.com.
