Doctor with expertise in nutrition lectures on links between peace and health
Learn how diet and personal peace are related when Dr. Terry Shintani discusses "The Peace Diet: How to Reverse Disease in 10 Days," 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse.
The free lecture will also focus on health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and arthritis, and cover topics such as weight control, "whole person health" and the effects of protein on the body.
Shintani, who received his master’s degree in nutrition from Harvard University, is an associated chairman of the University of Hawaii School of Medicine’s Department of Complementary & Alternative Medicine. He has been appointed to the National Advisory Board of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Experts to discuss disease and GMOs at Moiliili center
Stephanie Seneff and Melissa Yee, along with moderator Mama T Gonsalves, will give a free talk on "Roundup and GMO and the Rise of Modern Disease," 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 22 at Moiliili Community Center.
Seneff is an MIT senior research scientist in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Yee is an acupuncturist and beekeeper.
