Bailey surpasses 1,000 points in loss

Chaminade junior Lee Bailey broke the 1,000-point mark in Saturday’s 84-83 overtime loss to Dominican (Calif.) in a Pacific West Conference men’s basketball game in San Rafael, Calif.

Devin Golston scored 18 points and hit the game-winning basket with 11 seconds left in overtime for the Penguins (13-7, 7-5). Bailey led the Silverswords (12-7, 9-2) with 22 and now has 1,018 career points.

» Pablo Coro scored 26 points to help the Brigham Young-Hawaii men to a 112-107 overtime win over Academy of Art in San Francisco. Coro made all eight of his free throws in overtime and finished 15-for-17 from the line. Scott Friel had 23 points and 15 rebounds, and DeAndre Medlock scored 21 points for BYUH (9-8, 7-4). Alexis Moore scored 31 points and Alex Carmon scored 18 points for the Urban Knights (4-14, 2-9).

» Carl Dorn scored 22 points off the bench to lead the Holy Names men to a 77-70 win over Hawaii Pacific in Oakland, Calif. Harold Perry Jr. added 15 points for the Hawks (5-14, 4-7). Farbod Farman and Malte Ziegenhagen scored 20 points apiece for HPU (11-6, 6-5).

» Trevon Clayton scored 23 points to lead the Fresno Pacific men to an 88-86 win over Hawaii Hilo in Fresno, Calif. Phil Jackson had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Sunbirds (7-12, 2-9). Derek Owens scored 22 points and Joey Rodriguez scored 21 for Hilo (3-14, 0-11).

» Shianne Solomon hit five 3-pointers and finished with 26 points to lead the Hawaii Pacific women to a 92-71 win over host Holy Names. Morganne Comstock had 14 points and 11 rebounds for HPU (12-5, 8-3). Sonia Aguilar scored 36 points for the Hawks (9-8, 5-6)

» Krystal Forthan had 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the host Academy of Art women to a 77-70 win over BYU-Hawaii. Zoie Sheng added 18 points for the Urban Knights (13-6, 10-1). Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo scored 19 points and Danna Lynn Hooper scored 14 for BYUH (2-14, 2-9).

» Jenay Herring scored 20 points to help the host Fresno Pacific women beat Hawaii Hilo 66-58. Patrice Saindon added 16 points for the Sunbirds (6-11, 6-5). McKenzie led Hilo (6-9, 5-6) with 18 points.
