A British Colombia visitor died Tuesday after getting into trouble while snorkeling on Lanai.

Maui County officials said Sandra Jordan, 65, of Sidney, British Colombia, was on a snorkeling boat trip with family at about 10:20 a.m. when she was seen in distress while snorkeling within the Manele Boat Harbor.

She was assisted back to the boat, but became unresponsive, her head above water, officials said. CPR was performed once she was brought out of the water an onto the boat, and emergency personnel treated her at the harbor dock.

Jordan was transported to the Lanai Community Hospital,.

An autopsy is pending.
