Hawaii’s visitor arrivals and spending climbed slightly in November, putting 2014 on track to outpace last year’s record numbers.

November arrivals grew 2.2 percent to 637,664 visitors, while average daily spending rose to $194 from $192 per person in the year-ago period.

Total expenditures last month increased 3.4 percent to $1.1 billion compared to November 2013, according to preliminary statistics released Tuesday by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

The tourism industry continues to pace slightly ahead of last year.

Year-to-date arrivals are up 0.9 percent to 7.5 million visitors. Visitor spending through the first 11 months was up 2.3 percent at $13.3 billion, or $293 million more than last year at this point, HTA said.
