Police have charged a 34-year-old Kapahulu man with unauthorized possession of confidential personal information after he allegedly tried to use another man’s credit card.

According to police, Ernest Tavares was stopped by store personnel at Home Depot on Friday after he attempted to purchase items using the card. Tavares also allegedly was in possession of other personal confidential information belonging to the 66-year-old victim.

Police charged Tavares today. His bail was set at $500,000.
