No. 10 Hawaii sweeps UC San Diego in volleyball
Sophomore hitter Siki Zarkovic put down a team-high nine kills and No. 10 Hawaii used a balanced attack in keeping UC San Diego winless with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-21 sweep tonight in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Junior opposite Brook Sedore and junior middle Taylor Averill each had eight kills for the Rainbow Warriors (4-2, 2-1 MPSF), who hit .353 on the night. Hawaii outblocked UCSD 10-2.5 with Averill in on seven, and Zarkovic had three of the team’s five aces.
The Tritons (0-6, 0-5) got eight kills from senior hitter Nick Iorfino.in being swept for the fifth time in six matches.
The teams meet again Sunday at 5 p.m. Hawaii leads the series 46-4.
