Hawaii upsets Penn State in volleyball

Siki Zarkovic put down 15 kills and Brook Sedore added 11 as No. 10 Hawaii upset No. 3 Penn State in the Outrigger Resorts Invitational volleyball tournament Friday night 26-24, 25-19, 25-18, at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors (3-0, 2-0 ORI) outblocked the Nittany Lions (0-2, 0-2) 9-7.5, led by Davis Holt’s six. Libero Kolby Kanetake had 12 digs for Hawaii, which will meet No. 8 UC Irvine Sunday for the championship.

Earlier Friday, the Anteaters swept No. 14 Ohio State, 26-24, 25-21, 25-22.

Nick Goodell led Penn State with 14 kills.
