Hawaii foreclosures among the nation’s lowest
Hawaii had among the fewest completed foreclosures in the nation for the 12 months ending in October.
Analytics firm CoreLogic reported that South Dakota, with 19 completed foreclosures, had the fewest in the nation, while the District of Columbia had 64 and there were 452 in Hawaii.
The five states with the most completed foreclosures for the period were California, with 105,000; Florida, with 95,000; Michigan, 68,000; Texas, 59,000; and Georgia, with 54,000. The states account for 49 percent of all completed foreclosures nationally, CoreLogic reported.
The report separates state data into judicial- versus non-judicial foreclosure categories.
In another study, Hawaii is in the middle range of the number of days in which a foreclosure is completed. RealtyTrac studied the duration of foreclosures, state-by-state. It found the shortest duration of 97 days in Texas, the longest duration of 1,072 days in New York, with Hawaii foreclosures taking about 662 days.
