Berger, Reeves honored by PacWest
Brigham Young-Hawaii’s Daniel Berger was named Pacific West Conference men’s basketball co-player of the week and Hawaii Pacific’s Jessi Reeves was voted the women’s basketball freshman of the week on Monday.
Berger, a senior guard from Medford, Ore., combined for 40 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in victories over Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska Anchorage in last week’s Seawolf Jamboree.
The Utah State transfer has scored in double figures in seven consecutive games.
Berger shared the honor with Notre Dame de Namur’s Jalen Young.
Reeves, a forward from New South Wales, Australia, had eight points and seven rebounds in a win over Hawaii Hilo last week.
Chaminade men topple MSU-Billings
Kevin Hu scored 22 points and Lee Bailey added 19 as the Chaminade men’s basketball team beat Montana State-Billings 82-65 on Monday night at McCabe Gym.
Kiran Shastri added 14 points and Jamie Harper had 11 for the Silverswords (4-4). Kuany Kuany finished with nine rebounds.
Momir Gataric scored 14 points for the Yellowjackets (1-9).
