The Medical Examiner’s Office identified a 51-year-old man who drowned off Waikiki Beach as Andrew Quintero of California.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said Quintero drowned, but also died of other significant conditions that they deferred pending medical tests.

At about 8:40 a.m., lifeguards found Quintero approximately 30 feet offshore of Duke’s Restaurant floating on his back and unconscious. Lifeguards administered CPR until paramedics arrived. He was taken in critical condition to the hospital, where he died.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.
