A 23-year-old Waimalu man was arrested Friday afternoon after he allegedly broke the car window of a man with whom he got into an argument.

Police said the victim, 28, drove up to a Salt Lake Boulevard intersection near the Salt Lake Shopping Center at about 4:22 p.m. and was blocked from proceeding  because two men were in the middle of the street arguing.

When the motorist honked his horn, one of the men turned his attention to the driver and struck his rear window with an unknown instrument.

The suspect was arrested a short time later and is being held pending a charge of first-degree property damage.
