Flight+

This app offers up-to-the-minute info on delayed or canceled flights, whether you’re the flier or picking up a traveler at the airport.

» What it does: Shares real-time updates for every flight in every airport in the world. Also includes relevant data such as airlines, airports and airplanes.

» Available for: iPhone and iPad

» Cost: $3.99

» What’s hot: Not only can you look up a flight without its number and get instant information about its arrival/departure and gate/terminal status, you can also set alerts for real-time flight information. Track the flight’s progress on a map or send updates to your phone, email inbox and more. There’s a lot of airline, airport and seat-map info at your fingertips, but it’s the flight board and advance notice of delays and changes that will make this one of your favorite travel apps.

» What’s not: I use it in conjunction with my LoungeBuddy app. I would love for them to marry.

» Worth it? Yes. You need to pay for most flight-monitoring apps, and this one is easy to use. Don’t worry if you’re not a frequent traveler; if you pick up air travelers on a regular basis or have someone arriving in inclement weather, this app is for you, too.
