Facebook Hawaii seminar educates small businesses
An overflow crowd of some 500 people attended the Facebook Hawaii Small Business Boost Workshop on Tuesday at the Hawaii Convention Center.
Attendees, including those who tuned in to the live-stream online, were taught tips and strategies for marketing small businesses on Facebook by Bess Yount of Facebook, as well as by representatives of Hokulani Bake Shop, Martin & MacArthur and the Pacific Aviation Museum.
Much of the content during the seminar included work that business owners can do for free via their own Facebook pages or their presence on Instagram.
Three attendees, including the Hawaiian Humane Society, won $500 worth of advertising via the social network.
The first Facebook Hawaii event was staged on Maui over the weekend and drew some 300 attendees.
Events were organized in conjunction with the Maui Economic Development Board and the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.
