Fochive drafted by MLS’s Timbers
Former Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer player George Fochive was selected in the third round of the 2014 Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Wednesday.
Fochive was picked by the Portland Timbers with the 39th overall selection. He was named All-PacWest during his freshman and sophomore seasons, and was a second-team All-West Region pick in 2011 by the NSCAA.
After his sophomore season, he transferred to the University of Connecticut, helping the Huskies to the NCAA quarterfinals as a junior and senior.
