QUESTION: A few weeks ago you wrote that the oldest restaurant in Las Vegas had closed. What’s the new oldest?
ANSWER: With the closing of downtown’s El Sombrero, the title of oldest Las Vegas restaurant falls to Bob Taylor’s Original Ranch House, which has been open on the northwest side of town since 1955. Second oldest is now the Golden Steer, operating since 1958 on West Sahara Avenue, and the third-oldest restaurant is Macayo’s
Mexican Kitchen on East Charleston, which opened in 1960, preceding two other Macayo’s in Las Vegas.
