Chefs Johnny Iuzzini and Nancy Silverton — superstars of the baking world — help launch a new year for foodies at the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour Dinner Weekend Jan. 23 and 24 at the Grand Wailea Resort on Maui.
The two-day eating fest opens with a sunset cocktail party featuring award-winning mixologist Manny Hinojosa, who will create an array of "island-themed cocktails" to accompany dishes by Maui chefs.
The following evening, a six-course dinner will be presented under the stars with live entertainment.
Joining Iuzzini of Sugar Fueled Inc., who was head judge on Bravo’s "Top Chef Just Desserts," and Silverton (Pizzeria Osteria Mozza, Los Angeles), will be Norman Van Aken (Norman’s, Orlando, Fla.), Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto, New York City), and Bruce Bromberg (Blue Ribbon Restaurants). Grand Wailea executive chef Eric Faivre will host.
The cocktail event begins at 5 p.m.; tickets are $50. Dinner at 6 p.m. is $250. A VIP weekend pass for both events is $280. Tickets are available at celebritycheftour.com.
