A flash flood watch is in effect for Oahu, Kauai County and Maui County from through 6 p.m. Tuesday.The wet weather is likely to continue through Tuesday night.
Forecasters say unstable atmospheric conditions and lingering moisture from a cold front that passed over the islands this weekend could create locally heavy showers.
Meanwhile, high surf advisory is in effect now until 6 p.m. Wednesday for north and west facing shores of Kauai, Niihau, Oahu and Molokai, and north facing shores of Maui.
Another weather system is forecast to move over the state by Wednesday, bringing more rains later in the week.
Winds will also shift to the south, bringing vog and muggy conditions on Wednesday.
