Have you ever envisioned what would happen if Mario and Luigi took over Honolulu? Or if Donkey Kong decided to turn the city into his personal playground?
Jelly’s Hawaii wants to see your vision of a video game invasion of Oahu for an art contest being held in anticipation of Adam Sandler’s film "Pixels," set to hit theaters on July 24. The plot: Aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war and attack Earth using "Pac-Man," "Donkey Kong," "Centipede," "Space Invaders" and other games as models for their assaults on various cities.
The contest rules are simple: Submit an original artwork of an ’80s video game star invading Honolulu to any Jelly’s Hawaii location with an entry form (available at the store) by July 17. Three winners will receive two VIP passes to an advance screening of "Pixels" and movie swag.
Jelly’s is located in Aiea at 98-023 Hekaha St., No. 9; and in Kakaako at 670 Auahi St. Call 484-4413.
