In the gallery space at The ARTS at Marks Garage in Chinatown, Debra Drexler's paintings hang suspended from the ceiling, some placed back-to-back to "make their own walls," says the artist. "Staring Into the Sun," inspired by Hawaii's bright sunlight, runs through Dec. 1.

"Passage of Venus" is one of 30 paintings Drexler produced for this show. She started work on some as early as 2010 but finished them all this year.
