This year’s first South Korean blockbuster film, "The Attorney," will be released in Hawaii Friday. The film stars one of my favorite Korean veteran actors, Kang Ho Song, who was also my first guest at the Hawaii International Film Festival in 2002 for the opening night film "YMCA Baseball Team."
Song plays an attorney who moves to Busan to make a fortune as a real estate tax specialist but becomes a civil rights lawyer when his favorite restaurant owner’s son is jailed on false accusations.
The film has already hit the 10 million ticket mark since its release on Dec. 19 and looks like it will become one of the best performing films of 2014.
