Maui County will start installation of lights at the Keopuolani Park Soccer Field No. 4 on July 6.
The Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation said in a news release Friday that construction areas at Field No. 4 will be closed for safety reasons, but the park will remain open.
Work includes excavating holes for the light pole footings, trenching to install conduits and making connections to the new lighting controls to be located in the existing comfort station.
The construction area is expected to be closed until Oct. 31.
The county contractor for the project is Paul’s Electrical Contracting LLC; total construction cost is $431,049.

County repairs to Kapaa pool will take weeks
Kauai County officials say it might be about eight weeks before the Kapaa pool will be open.
After several days of testing, officials determined that the pump and motor at the pool needed to be replaced, officials said in a news release Friday. Replacements have been ordered.
In the meantime, arrangements have been made with the state Department of Education to hold the Kapaa pool swim classes at the Kauai High School pool.
