Police arrest 2 men in alleged extortion attempt
Two men are in custody after allegedly trying to extort money from a woman for property that was stolen from her last week.
The theft apparently occurred on Nov. 6.
Police said the money was paid Wednesday and two men, ages 26 and 44, were arrested later in the day at a Sheridan Street bar.
Both men were arrested on first-degree extortion charges with the 26-year-old Kaimuki man also being held on suspicion of fourth-degree theft.
