Inmate missing from work furlough turns self in
A 43-year-old Laumaka Work Furlough Center inmate failed to return from furlough on Saturday and now faces an escape charge.
Jeffrey Andrzejewski, who was sentenced in 2007 for first-degree burglary, second-degree theft and kidnapping, was allowed to leave on furlough Saturday morning on a day pass to spend time with family. He failed to return by 8 p.m. Saturday.
When he didn’t return on Saturday, Laumaka officials notified the sheriff’s department.
Andrzejewski turned himself into police Tuesday morning.
He was transferred to Laumaka in April and had a parole hearing scheduled for Nov. 20.
