>> UCLA safety Dalton Hilliard (Punahou ’09) made five tackles in a 44-36 win over Washington State on Saturday night. Cougars linebacker Cyrus Coen (Pearl City ’11) finished with six tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery and returned an interception 19 yards, and Chester Sua (Kaimuki ’11) added a solo tackle. The Bruins are ranked No. 17 in the latest BCS standings.
>> Utah linebacker V.J. Fehoko (Farrington ’10) made five tackles in a 34-15 loss to Washington on Saturday night. Defensive tackle Semisi Tokolahi (Hilo ’09) assisted on a tackle, and Taz Stevenson (Mililani ’10) made a solo tackle for the Huskies, who are ranked No. 25 in the latest BCS standings.
>> Brigham Young senior Simote Vea (Kahuku ’05) made a tackle and recovered a fumble in a 52-13 win over Idaho on Saturday. Freshman Solomon Dixon (McKinley ’11) made five tackles — including one for loss — and had a 2-yard reception for the Vandals.
>> Weber State quarterback Mike Hoke (Kamehameha ’08) finished 24-for-46 for 310 yards and four touchdowns and rushed 11 times for 39 yards in a 42-34 loss to Northern Colorado on Saturday. Sophomore Jake Kahawaii (Kahuku ’06) made two tackles and Adam Sagapolutele-White (Saint Louis ’09) assisted on two tackles for the Wildcats, while kicker Mason Puckett (Aiea ’09) averaged 33.6 yards on five punts and had three of his seven kickoffs go for touchbacks for the Bears.

>> Pacific Lutheran defensive back Sean McFadden (Punahou ’10) made 13 tackles and recovered a fumble in a 38-21 win over Menlo (Calif.) College on Saturday to clinch a berth in the Division III playoffs for the first time since 2001. Defensive back Joseph Correia (Saint Louis ’09) made six tackles and forced a fumble for the Oaks. McFadden was named to the All-Northwest Conference first team on Tuesday.
>> Linfield (Ore.) junior KeAlii Poomaihealani (Saint Louis ’10) was named to the All-Northwest Conference second team on Tuesday. On Saturday, he had three tackles and half a sack and Christian Akana (Kamehameha ’12) had a 20-yard reception in a 51-17 win over Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday. Boxers quarterback P.J. Minaya (Hanalani ’10) was 8-for-16 for 58 yards and a touchdown before leaving in the second quarter with an injury, and Kamu Morita (Kamehameha ’10) made three solo tackles.
>> Willamette (Ore.) sophomore offensive lineman Keenan Faatea (Punahou ’11) was named to the All-Northwest Conference second team on Tuesday.
>> Cornell (Iowa) College linebacker Geoffrey Miller (Punahou ’10) made nine tackles and broke up a pass in a 32-27 win over Grinnell College on Saturday. Miller finished the season leading the Rams with 111 tackles, finishing second in the Midwest Conference and 23rd nationally for Division III.
>> Southern Oregon receiver Justin Otaguro (Roosevelt ’08) had five receptions for 92 yards — including a 64-yard touchdown catch — in a 46-28 win over Montana Tech on Saturday that clinched a share of the Frontier Conference title.

>> Penn State junior Tani Costa (Kalani ’09) came off the bench and played 54 minutes, scoring a goal on three shots in a 4-0 win over LIU-Brooklyn in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday. Costa put two shots on net for the Nittany Lions, who host Boston College in the second round Friday.
>> UCLA starting defender Caprice Dydasco (Kamehameha ’11) played all 90 minutes and assisted on the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Bruins move on to play Kentucky in the second round Friday.
>> Santa Clara starting midfielder Meleana Shim (Kamehameha ’09) scored the opening goal in the 18th minute of a 2-1 victory over Long Beach State in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday. The Broncos will play at Stanford in the second round on Friday.
>> Pepperdine sophomore Ally Holtz (Punahou ’11) started at forward and played 76 minutes in a 1-0 loss to California in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday.

>> Siena (N.Y.) junior Taylor Akana (Kamehameha ’10) had 21 digs and 19 kills and senior Lesli Akeo (Kamehameha ’09) finished with 35 digs — her seventh match with at least 30 digs this year — to lead the Saints to a four-set victory over Loyola on Sunday to lock up the No. 2 seed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships this weekend.
>> Puget Sound junior Christina Chun (Maryknoll ’10) had a team-high 21 digs and Kelsey Lee (Punahou ’11) added three digs in a four-set victory over Cal Lutheran to advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III tournament. Freshman Pua Mo‘okini-Oliveira (Kamehameha ’12) had four kills and three digs and assisted on a block and Lesley Smith (Seabury Hall ’09) had a block assist for the Regals. Chun was joined by Pacific outside Marie Rewick (Punahou ’12) and Linfield (Ore.) sophomore Kailana Ritte-Camara (Molokai ’11) on the All-Northwest Conference second team announced last Wednesday. George Fox libero Chelsea Wilson (Campbell ’10) and Willamette (Ore.) junior middle Shannon Waltz (La Pietra ’10) earned honorable mention honors.
>> Cornell’s Brittany Kalepa (Kamehameha ’12) had a game-high 23 digs and four assists in a four-set win over Princeton on Friday, and again had a game high with 18 digs and four assists in a win over Pennsylvania on Saturday to conclude her freshman season.
>> Holy Cross sophomore Kamele Shizuru (Kamehameha ’11) had four kills, two block assists and a dig in a four-set loss to Lehigh on Friday.
>> Menlo (Calif.) sophomore Courtney Calicdan (Moanalua ’11) was named the California Pacific Conference player of the year, and senior Mika Mendoza (Moanalua ’09) was named the libero of the year last Thursday. Calicdan missed most of her freshman season with a knee injury before leading the Oaks with 221 kills and a .270 hitting percentage this season. Mendoza has totaled 359 digs and her 5.28 digs-per- set average ranks 23rd in the nation. The Oaks defeated Embry-Riddle to win the CPC postseason tournament and advance to the NAIA national tournament beginning Saturday.
>> Washington (Mo.) senior Kelly Pang (‘Iolani ’09) was named the University Athletic Association defensive athlete of the week for the seventh time this year after leading the Bears in three matches at the NCAA Regional in Elmhurst, Ill. Pang finished the season with 674 digs, ranking second on Washington’s all-time single-season list, and finished her career with a school-record 2,520 digs.
>> Dominican (Calif.) University freshman Sari Kwan (Punahou ’12) was named to the Pacific West Conference Fantastic 15 honor roll on Monday after notching a career-high 30 digs in a win over Point Loma Nazarene University. She finished the season with 377 digs, averaging 4.14 per set. Both are school records since the Lady Penguins joined the NCAA in 2009.

>> Washington State’s Lia Galdeira (Konawaena ’12) set a freshman single-game record in her collegiate debut with 33 points in an
87-83 loss in double overtime to Montana in the Best Buy Classic on Saturday. Galdeira played 40 minutes and was 12-for-27 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line, adding five steals, three rebounds and three assists. Teammate Dawnyelle Awa (Konawaena ’12) played 20 minutes off the bench and had four points, three assists and a steal in her college debut.
>> Indiana junior forward Milika Taufa (Lahainaluna ’10) started and played 23 minutes, making all three of her shot attempts to finish with six points, seven rebounds, a block and a steal before fouling out of a 63-62 win over Murray State on Monday.

>> Occidental (Calif.) senior Reid Sakamoto (‘Iolani ’09) was named to the All-Southern California Interscholastic Athletic Conference first team last Monday. Sakamoto, a four-time All-SCIAC honoree, made the first team for the first time after posting four goals and 10 points as a senior. He was also honored with the Brine Award of Distinction that takes into account sportsmanship, community service and academic success as well as on-the-field performance.
