Police on hunt for escaped inmate
Police and sheriffs were searching Saturday for an inmate who escaped from the Laumaka Work Furlough Center.
Anthony Robert Delmondo, 27, was not present at the 6 a.m. head count, said state Department of Public Safety officials. He is serving time for vehicle theft. His next parole hearing was set for June 14.
He is described as Hawaiian, 5 feet 7 inches, 205 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
Crash on H-1 injures motorcyclist
A motorcyclist was in serious condition Saturday after a crash on H-1 freeway.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, crashed on the freeway in the westbound direction near the School Street onramp at 9:31 a.m., according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
He was wearing a helmet, EMS said.
No other parties were involved.
