Martin Jacobson, a professional poker player from Sweden, emerged from a starting field of 6,683 to become the new World Series of Poker Main Event champion and take down a first prize of $10 million. Jacobson began the final table with the second lowest chip stack, but prevailed after 328 hands when his three 10s beat Felix Stephensen’s pair of 9s. Stephensen received $5.1 million for second. At 27, Jacobson is the seventh consecutive Main Event winner to be in his 20s. Remarkably, the ninth-place finisher was Mark Newhouse, who finished in the same position last year.

QUESTION: Last week a big crowd gathered on the Strip for a concert of some kind. Who was playing?
ANSWER: It was the homegrown Las Vegas band Imagine Dragons. The band set up unannounced in front of the Bellagio fountains and played a three-song set, including its mega-hit, "Radioactive." The concert was part of a new ad campaign promoting Las Vegas, so you’ll probably see parts of the performance eventually on TV.
