Li’ili’i shines in Hawaii’s fall finale

Leisha Li’ili’i drove in five runs and Kaia Parnaby recorded seven strikeouts to highlight the University of Hawaii softball team’s intrasquad scrimmage on Kauai on Sunday.

Li’ili’i hit a grand slam and Sharla Kliebenstein hit a three-run homer to help power the grey team to a 16-4 win over the green in the scrimmage at Waimea Canyon Park. Parnaby gave up one hit over four innings for the grey. Jazmine Zamora doubled and drove in two runs for the green.

The scrimmage and clinic on Kauai marked the end of fall practice for the Rainbow Wahine.

Hawaii Pacific wins on the road

Mikela Thoemmes scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Hawaii Pacific defeated Western Oregon 65-61 on Sunday in women’s basketball in Monmouth, Ore.

Ieva Nagy chipped in with 17 points, while Susannah Walmsley added 10 for the Sea Warriors (1-2)
