Thanksgiving meals are planned at the following events:
SALVATION ARMY
Hosting its 44th annual Thanksgiving dinner, the Salvation Army invites anyone "alone, without a home, in need of a hot meal or simply wishing to share in fellowship" to attend the free event. More than 2,000 community members participated last year.
Meals will be served Thursday in the exhibition hall at the Neal Blaisdell Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
RIVER OF LIFE
River of Life Mission will serve and deliver turkeys to the needy and homeless on Oahu, opening its doors in Chinatown at 9:30 a.m. and serving meals from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 101 N. Pauahi St.
LANAKILA MEALS ON WHEELS
Lanakila Meals on Wheels will host its 22nd annual Thanksgiving Day meal delivery to more than 600 homebound kupuna, thanks to contributions and community volunteers. More than 200 volunteers will help prepare and deliver the meals, including GlaxoSmithKline, Hickam Federal Credit Union, Hickam Federal Women’s Program, Hawaii Air National Guard, Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club, HGEA, Koko Head Lions Club, Oahu Contractors Association and Rising Phoenix Jaycees, and new this year, the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa Father& Daughter group.
KOA OHANA
Mo’s Heroes, the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals and military service organizations will host the Koa Ohana Thanksgiving for veterans and their families at the Oahu Veterans Center, 1298 Kukila St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
INSTITUTE FOR HUMAN SERVICES
Meals will be served at IHS, 546 Kaaahi St., from 2 to 4 p.m.
