The 31-year-old man arrested in connection with four armed robberies earlier this week is also the main suspect in four other stickup jobs, according to federal court documents.
Bob De Larosa (also known as Delarosa), who did not list a home address when he was picked up by Honolulu police Wednesday in Waikiki, was turned over to federal authorities Thursday and charged with robbing:
» Walgreens pharmacy on Aug. 18.
» Rix Island Wear at Ward Warehouse on Sept. 3.
» Lono God of Peace jewelry store in Waikiki on Oct. 24.
» Lucky Brand Jeans in Waikiki on Sunday.
In a 10-page criminal complaint filed in federal court Friday, De Larosa is also suspected by Honolulu police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for attempting to rob Posh Liquor Store in Waikiki on Sept. 3.
In addition, De Larosa is suspected of robbing Ao Anela Clothing on Kalakaua Avenue on Sept. 1, Alicia’s Market in Kalihi on Sept. 5 and the Fast Stop Gas station in Waianae on Oct. 22.
All the crimes involved a handgun.
When De Larosa was arrested Wednesday, a black replica handgun resembling a Sig Sauer 9 mm was found in his waistband along with an electronic Taser gun, according to a statement by an ATF agent.
The affidavit said the suspect in the Aug. 18 Walgreens robbery got away with three bottles of 30 mg oxycodone pills — a total of 300 tablets — after brandishing a handgun.
On Sept. 3 an employee at Rix Island Wear pretended not to know how to open the cash register after pushing the panic alarm to give police time to respond. When the suspect became impatient, he took a handgun from his waistband and told the clerk, "I know you know how to open it." When the cashier opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter and took $395.
On Oct. 24 the sales manager at Lono God of Peace jewelry store said the suspect threatened employees with a handgun and got away with $2,675 in cash that was stored in a blue vinyl bank bag.
On Nov. 4 a Lucky Brand Jeans supervisor said she was composing an email when the suspect told her to "open the register" while threatening her with a handgun. The amount stolen was $651.
De Larosa is charged with four counts of interference with commerce by threats or violence.
He is being held in the federal detention center.
