5 found shot to death in Tucson home

TUCSON, Ariz. » Five people were found shot to death Tuesday evening in a southern Arizona home in what police suspect was a murder-suicide.

Tucson police officers responding to a call found the bodies in the single-story home about 6 p.m., police Sgt. Pete Dugan said.

All of the dead had "obvious signs of gunshot trauma," he told The Associated Press.

Police suspect it was a case of murder-suicide so Dugan said authorities aren’t actively searching for anyone.

"They are trying to figure what took place. Right now it appears it was a murder-suicide, but it’s (the investigation) is in its initial stages," he said.

Investigators were still at the residence on the city’s south side late Tuesday and they weren’t releasing any other information, including the names and ages of the dead.

Dugan said police got first word of the bloodshed by a man who went to the house to meet someone, peeked inside and noticed one individual who appeared to be deceased with multiple gunshot wounds."

The Tucson Daily Star quoted police as saying all five appeared to have been shot sometime Tuesday, and it didn’t appear that any were young children.

The newspaper said officers have been called to that home before, but details weren’t immediately available.
