A 28-year-old Kaneohe woman was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on the Likelike Highway.

Police said the motorcyclist was heading southbound on the Likelike on a 2006 black Yamaha at 3:13 p.m. when the crash occurred near the intersection of Gulick Avenue.

Police said the woman was speeding when she lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from it.

She suffered head and internal injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Police said she was not wearing a helmet.
