Police investigate robbery of man walking in Hilo

Hawaii County police are investigating a reported robbery of a 63-year-old Hilo man walking along Puueo Street in Hilo early Thursday.

At about 12:30 a.m., a male pushed the victim to the ground and stole his wallet, police said. The suspect fled the area on foot toward downtown Hilo. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as being 5-feet 2-inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with a stocky build. He was possibly wearing a light-colored “hoodie” over his head.
