Mikah Takashige’s late RBI single brought in Jonah Paas with the winning run as the Leilehua Mules edged the visiting Waipahu Marauders 6-5 in an OIA Red West baseball game on Friday night.
With two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Leilehua (4-6) put runners on first and third. A Waipahu error allowed both runners to score to bring the Mules within one. Another error put a runner on and Paas blasted a triple to left, tying the game at 5. Takashige’s ground ball earned Leilehua the victory.
Rick Van Gelder hit 3-for-3, with two doubles and three runs to lead Leilehua’s offense.
Dylan Sugimoto and Oakland Scanlan each had three hits for Waipahu (6-5).
