University of Hawaii campus police continue to seek a "person of interest" who was captured in a photo Saturday following three reports of indecent exposure near the Manoa campus’ athletic complex.
The incidents began Nov. 3 and are the only ones reported this school year, said UH public safety spokeswoman Sarah Rice.
Witnesses gave UH officials descriptions of the man in each incident, which all occurred in daytime.
A photo taken Saturday after the 10:10 a.m. indecent-exposure incident on the lower campus shows a man with a beard in sunglasses.
He was described as a 5-foot-4-inch to 5-foot-6-inch-tall Caucasian man in his 20s, 120 to 140 pounds with brown-blond, short, wavy hair, and a mustache and a beard. He was wearing jeans and a dark blue short-sleeve dress shirt.
In a Nov. 19 incident at 4:10 p.m. near the Clarence T.C. Ching Field on the lower campus, the man was described as a blond Caucasian wearing glasses, a blue flannel shirt and brown pants. There was no description of facial hair or height or weight.
The first incident was reported Nov. 3 after a student saw a man fondling himself near the Physical Education/Athletics Complex on the lower campus at about 8:40 a.m.
He was described as a 5-foot-6-inch to 5-foot-8-inch-tall Caucasian in his late teens or early 20s with brown, shaggy hair. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt and carrying a backpack.
"We can’t necessarly say it was the same person in each incident," Rice said.
The three descriptions in each case are "alike but still varying," Rice said. "Some similarities lead us to believe it’s the same person. But it just goes to show that the way people describe somebody can be different."
She urged anyone who sees suspicious activity to call the UH-Manoa Department of Public Safety at 956-6911 or the Honolulu Police Department at 911.
