Maui firefighters extinguish small brush fire next to church
Fire consumed about a quarter of an acre of brush next to the Grace Bible Church in Kahului Thursday afternoon.
The brush fire was reported at 2:21 p.m. at Hina Avenue and West Hawaii Street in an area where there was dry grass, brush and green waste, a fire official said.
Firefighters brought the fire under control at 3 p.m. and extinguished at 3:42 p.m.
The cause of the blaze is undetermined. No damage was reported.
