The University of Hawaii football team will play at Michigan Sept. 3, 2016, it was announced today.

The “Big House” has a seating capacity of more than 107,000.

“I played over there twice. It’s a great place. Every player needs to play there once in their career,” said acting UH athletic director Rockne Freitas, who played there while playing for Oregon State and the Detroit Lions in an exhibition.

The opening in the Michigan schedule occurred when Notre Dame pulled out of a series of games from 2015-20-17 with Michigan.

The Wolverines filled the 2016 spot with UH, the 2015 spot with BYU.
