High surf advisory extended until Wednesday for east shores

The National Weather Service has extended a high surf advisory until Wednesday morning for east shores of Oahu, Kauai, Maui and Hawaii island.

Surf along east shores is expected to be in the 6 to 8 foot range until about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The high surf advisory for north and west shores as waves from a declining north swell dropped below the advisory level of 8 feet.

Forecasters say the surf will produce large breaking waves, rough conditions and life-threatening rip currents.
