4-vehicle crash sends 2 men to hospital
One male driver was critically injured Wednesday night and another man seriously injured in a four-vehicle accident in Maili.
Police dispatch reported that one person was in critical condition following the 8:47 p.m. accident at the intersection of Hookele Street and Farrington Highway.
One or more vehicles struck a utility pole and downed electrical lines, Emergency Medical Services reported.
Police closed off one Honolulu-bound lane while officers conducted an investigation.
EMS said the male driver, whose age was unknown, was critically injured and taken to an area hospital.
A 54-year-old man, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was in serious condition and taken to a trauma center by EMS.
Another person declined treatment, EMS said.
Man and boy on bike badly hurt by car
A 3-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when a car struck the bicycle they were riding in Waianae, Emergency Medical Services said in a written report.
The child was being packed "piggy-back style" on a BMX bike when the car hit the side of the bicycle, EMS said.
EMS said the "low-speed collision" occurred at 5:16 p.m. in front of the Waianae Boat Harbor, 85-491 Farrington Highway. The two were taken by ambulance in serious condition to a hospital
