A 52-year-old man was taken in serious condition to a local trauma center after an apparent stabbing Saturday in Waianae.

According to ambulance radio transmissions, the man reported being struck two or three times in the back of the head, resulting in at least one large laceration. The victim also complained of blindness and neck and back pain.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Plantation Road near Hoomaluhia Street, according to Emergency Medical Services.
