Dead snorkeler was from Japan
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 23-year-old man who died Wednesday morning after snorkeling in waters fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki as Chotaro Watanabe of Japan.
An autopsy will be conducted.
Police said Watanabe became unresponsive while snorkeling at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday.
Suspect sought in bank robbery
Police are looking for a man who robbed a Kapahulu bank Wednesday morning.
Police said the man entered the American Savings Bank on Kapahulu Avenue at 9:20 a.m. and presented the teller a demand note. He then fled makai with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
