Seven people were injured, one critically, in a motor vehicle collision in Waianae on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. on Waianae Valley Road near Piliuka Road.
A 14-year-old boy was transported in critical condition to a hospital.
A 25-year-old man, 17-year-old girl, 18-year-old woman and 43-year-old woman were hospitalized, each in serious condition.
Two children — 9-year-old girl and 2-year-old girls — were taken in stable condition to a hospital.
Police closed Waianae Valley Road between Kaneaki Street and Plantation Road to investigate.
Motorcycle crash kills Valley Isle man
A 25-year-old man died in a single-motorcycle crash Sunday on Maui.
Maui police identified the motorcyclist as Chevis Pacheco Carlos of Pukalani.
The crash happened at about 1:50 a.m. on Kahekili Highway near Puuohala Road in Wailuku.
Police said Carlos was driving a 2006 Kawasaki ZX-6R motorcycle south on Kahekili Highway when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guardrail.
Carlos, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
He was the fourth traffic fatality on Maui this year, compared with 11 at this time last year.
Pair on motorcycle die in Kona crash
A motorcyclist and his passenger died Saturday after they were hit head-on by a vehicle that crossed the centerline on Queen Kaahumanu Highway in Kona, police said.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Rick Dupont, 47, of Kona. His male passenger has not yet been identified.
Police responded to a call at 7:32 p.m. near the 94-mile marker on the highway.
Police said a 23-year-old Honolulu woman was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima south on the highway when she crossed left of center and sideswiped an oncoming Ford sedan, then collided head-on with a 2013 Honda CRF 250L motorcycle that Dupont was driving, also northbound.
Dupont and his passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. Both were taken to Kona Community Hospital, where they were pronounced dead shortly before midnight.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where she was treated and released. She was arrested on suspicion of first-degree negligent homicide and released pending further investigation.
The driver of the Ford sedan declined treatment.

This was the ninth traffic fatality this year on Hawaii island, compared with five at this time last year.
Pedestrian hurt by pickup truck
Police arrested a 75-year-old Hawaii Kai man for allegedly striking a pedestrian May 4 while driving a pickup truck near the Makapuu Lookout.
The suspect was driving a pickup truck when it veered off the road and struck a 43-year-old Honolulu man, critically injuring him, at 3:07 p.m.
Police said the victim suffered massive leg injuries, and one of his legs was severed.
Police said the man was loading items into his SUV on the side of Kalanianaole Highway near the lookout when it happened.
The suspect was released pending investigation.
