When looking for an inmate, look up
With all those armed dudes at Circuit Court, you’d think it would be locked up tighter than a drum, right?
Not so — as was revealed this week after an inmate escaped by crawling through the ceiling of an interview room where inmates meet with lawyers before and after hearings. Fortunately, the inmate has since been recaptured, and officials are assessing ways to better secure the room. Tightening supervision wouldn’t hurt, either.
The Sierra Club makes list, takes names
The Sierra Club’s Hawaii chapter has launched an unusual website that indicates, with photos, whether state legislative candidates think that the controversial Public Land Development Corp. should be repealed.
So far, 15 senators or wannabes are for repeal while five are against. In the House, candidate members for repeal number 40. Speaker Calvin Say is one of only two wanting to keep the law.
