Police arrest suspect in death of Oregon woman
Honolulu police say they have arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder in the death of an Oregon woman whose body was found along a cliff on the Makaha side of Yokohama Bay last month.
Ivanice “Ivy” Harris was last seen outside a pub on Lewers Street and Kalakaua Avenue at about 2 a.m. on May 16th. Her body was discovered a few days later.
She arrived in Hawaii on May 7 and had been planning to celebrate her 29th birthday with friends on May 18th.
Police arrested 38-year-old Nathaniel L. Cosby this morning at the Honolulu Airport on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to the police arrest records.
A newsletter from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni in Japan, shows Cosby was promoted to the rank of master sergeant in November.
Harris, who was from Portland, Ore., lived in Las Vegas, according to her Facebook page, which shows a picture of her smiling as she stood on a beach, posted May 15.

Friends said Harris worked as a prostitute.
"It does not matter what she did for a living or anything else, whether she was a working girl or not," said friend Jillian Gibides in an interview last month. "All that matters is to find out who killed my girlfriend."
