Police arrest teen who allegedly stabbed his grandmother
Police tonight arrested a 19-year-old man who is suspected of stabbing his 70-year-old grandmother early this morning in her Waialae Avenue apartment.
Suspect Charles “Kealii” Amoy was caught in the University area about 6 p.m. after police issued an alert about the stabbing, and arrested for investigation of second-degree attempted murder.
The woman remains in critical condition at Queen’s Medical Center after she was allegedly stabbed multiple times today.
Neighbors identified the victim as Aileen Amoy.
The stabbing happened at about 1:40 a.m. today at 3002 Waialae Ave., a three-story apartment building behind Sakura Restaurant & Pupu Bar.
The victim reported her grandson was responsible for her injuries, police said. Charles Amoy was last seen jumping into a nearby drainage canal. police said.

Police opened an attempted murder investigation.
Yellow police tape ran across part of the exterior side of the apartment’s two-panel front window where five glass jalousie louvers were missing and the screen was dislodged.
Neighbors said they were awakened by flashing lights from police and ambulance.
Peter Pulido said he was shocked to hear about the stabbing and hopes Aileen Amoy’s condition improves. “We want her to pull through,” said Pulido, whom he calls “Aunty Aileen.” She has lived in the three-story building for more than 20 years and has always been there to help her grandson, he said.
