Moped casualty was California visitor
The Honolulu medical examiner’s office has identified the 50-year-old moped driver who was killed Tuesday when the moped she was driving collided with a pickup truck in Barbers Point as a visitor from California.
Dana Warner of San Pablo, Calif., died of multiple blunt-force injuries resulting from a collision with a truck on Franklin Roosevelt Avenue near Kasaan Bay Street, the medical examiner’s office reported. The accident occurred at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said the moped crossed the centerline on Roosevelt Avenue, hitting a truck driven by a 55-year-old man. The victim was not wearing a helmet.
Kaunakakai resident killed in collision
A woman killed Thursday in a traffic collision on Molokai has been identified as Patricia Bevins, 69, of Kaunakakai, Maui County police said Friday.
Bevins was driving a motorized scooter that was rear-ended by a van on Kamehameha V Highway near Kapaakea Loop in Kaunakakai at about 2 p.m. Both vehicles were traveling east, police said. The driver of the van, a 60-year-old man from Kaunakakai, was not hurt.
