‘Iolani School has named head coaches for its varsity baseball and softball programs.

Kurt Miyahira will coach the Raiders baseball team after leading the junior varsity program the past two seasons. Miyahira replaces Brent Shimokawa, who stepped down after three seasons.

Dean Yonamine was hired as ‘Iolani softball coach. He replaces Corey Okamura, who resigned after four seasons. Yonamine served as Raiders varsity baseball coach from 1997 to 2009, winning state titles in 1997 and ’98.
