A high surf advisory remains in effect for the south-facing shores of all islands through this 6 p.m. this evening.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service expect surf up to 6 to 10 feet this morning, falling to 5 to 8 feet this evening.
Officials warn the high surf can be hazardous, creating strong currents that can make swimming difficult and dangerous.
