Hilo man charged with several thefts in Panaewa area
Hawaii County police charged a 22-year-old Hilo man for several property crimes in the Panaewa area last month.
Police on Monday initially arrested Kody Ono on suspicion of theft of a cell phone, which was allegedly taken during a Dec. 5 burglary.
Police said they discovered through investigation that Ono had allegedly sold several pieces of silverware, which had been stolen Dec. 8 from an Awapuhi Street home.
The value of all the stolen property totals an estimated $455, police said.
Ono was charged Tuesday with burglary and two counts of theft. His bail was set at $36,000.
