Body of diver, 25, recovered off Maui
The body of 35-year-old man was found early this morning off of Maalaea, Maui, fire officials said.
Rescue crews were called to Haycraft Park in Maalaea to search for a missing diver who had been last seen at about 3 a.m. The diver was described as a Micronesian male with no shirt, blue shorts, and standard skin diving gear including a dive flashlight.
Crews searched the shoreline and on jet skis but did not find the man.
At about 5:15 a.m., people on board the commercial boat Quicksilver spotted the diver floating face down a half-mile from shore fronting the beach park, fire officials said.
